11/11/2015 - Sport4Life takes place this weekend

Sport for Life 379 x 269

With only days to go until the first Sport 4 Life Conference & Expo in the North West excitement is mounting ahead of an event filled weekend in the Twin Towns.

While creating an awareness of the facilities and attractions this area offers is a key objective, Sport4Life hopes to use the opportunity to do this in tandem with improving people's lives, outlook and their general health through this three day event which is suitable for all.

One of the few, but important, positives arising out of the recession, is that people took more time to look after themselves.  This Sport4Life Conference & Expo hopes to target some of these people and help them with:

Expert advice from looking after your body, mentally and physically with Tommy Gallagher ‘Stay healthy and avoid Injury – Beginners to Elite’ and John Hession will tell you ‘How to create the best possible environment in which to achieve individual or team goals’.

The best nutritional advice with Barry Murray – Optium Nutrition 4 Sport on Modern Nutrition Principles for Health and Performance.

Strength and Conditioning with Adam Speer and the latest Cycling Techniques with Gavin Crawford.

To encourage, help& inform people, of all abilities, as to how they can and should become more active and how they can take responsibility for enhancing their own well being.

The event’s ‘Ask the Experts’ panel will allow the general public to pose questions to all guests and pick up some hints and tips along the way.

The Sport4Life Expo will be open from 6pm on Friday evening, with the official opening at 7.30pm and is free to the general public all weekend. Why not take time to drop in and enjoy the first ever Viking Games, a competition to find Donegal’s fittest person.

Organisers will also have a golf simulator, so if you fancy yourself as the next Rory McIlroy, try your luck on the famous 7th at Pebble Beach, California on the ‘Nearest the Pin’ challenge!  Or why not try out your kicking skills on our multiplatform sports simulator.  They’ve got soccer, gaelic football and rugby so you can score a penalty in Old Trafford, score the winning free in Croke Park or win the Rugby World Cup for Ireland in Twickenham!

Sport4Life also will host many sports events this weekend, on Saturday at 1pm 40 ladies will take part in their first ‘Try a Tri’ and on Sunday at 11am they have the Finn Valley Remembrance 10km and then at 1pm there will an Aquathlon.

Sport4Life is honoured to have as our special guest at this first event, one of the greatest triathletes of all time – the current Gold Olympic, European and Commonwealth Champion, Alistair Brownlee, MBE.  Alistair will be joined by many of our own top athletes Olympian Maria McCambridge, Gary Crossan, Jason Black, Sue Ronan (Manager of the Ladies International Soccer Team) and special guests Nikki Bradley and Kieran Murray.

To book your place on Sport4Life contact [email protected] or contact (074) 9190909.  Registration will be open for all events from 6pm on Friday evening. Special accommodation rates available in all local hotels and B & B’s by quoting Sport 4 Life.
